The 55th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting was an interdisciplinary event for Nobel Laureates in chemistry, physics and physiology/medicine – only the second interdisciplinary meeting of this kind. Besides the 44 Laureates, 696 outstanding young scientists from 54 nations took part in the 16 lectures given by Laureates and in the three panel discussions. The young scientists were also able to carry on a direct dialogue with the Laureates in 24 discussion events.
