Abstract
What does it take to aim for and to maintain excellence in sport and in science? How do you improve an already great performance? How do you reinforce mental preparedness? What roles do coaches or mentors play? What happens after breakthrough moments in the careers of professional sportspeople or of scientific researchers? After a prize, after a medal?
We explore these questions, comparing and contrasting excellence in science and sports with an outstanding panel of those that know – Nobel Laureates and elite sports champions. What are the take home messages for all of us in whatever we choose to do, in science, sport, business or the community?
