Abstract

How can effective climate policy be designed and implemented in an age of political polarization and rising populism? This panel explores the economic and political challenges of curbing greenhouse gas emissions in today’s global context. Key questions include: What role should carbon pricing, innovation, and subsidies play in the policy mix? Is the Paris Agreement still a viable framework for international cooperation, or are new approaches needed? How can governments act under uncertainty while maintaining public trust and long-term commitment to climate goals?
