Abstract
Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s Disease (https://parkinsonsroadmap.org) seeks to probe the systems, cellular and molecular basis of PD. Our program focuses on disease processes including the genes and proteins implicated in familial forms of PD, the neuroinflammatory processes that may instigate or exacerbate disease progression, the neural circuity that feeds into and from dopaminergic neurons and an understanding of the processes that may predict or initiate disease in the long prodromal phase that precedes the development of movement disorder symptoms. We have assembled teams of investigators who have developed meaningful collaborations on these key issues, and from these groups we have built an international consortium of interactive investigators who share a vision for open communication of ideas and results.
