Abstract
This lecture outlines how the chemical foundations have been established for the synthesis of limitless number of metal-organic frameworks and covalent organic frameworks. These structures are useful in many applications including capture of carbon from air and flue gas as well as generating clean drinking water from air. The use of AI to speed up the process of discovery and shorten the span between molecule to material to societal applications will also be discussed.
