Abstract

Quantum computing promises capabilities that go far beyond today’s classical machines – but what will this actually mean in practice? This panel explores where quantum computers may create real value, which problems they are likely to transform, and where expectations should be tempered – from advances in fundamental science to new approaches in chemistry, materials, and complex optimization. The panel will discuss emerging applications as well as the technological, economic, and potential ethical challenges ahead.
