It is a decade since the UN adopted the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and this session will focus on the contribution of chemistry to achieving these goals. The panel is to discuss how chemistry research is contributing to overcoming challenges from climate and energy to environment and health.

The discussion will also consider the opportunities and challenges in making chemistry itself more sustainable, linking to green chemistry, green labs, circularity, and resource efficiency. Panellists will also share perspectives on how scientists can influence sustainability in broader ways such as policy, education, and leadership.
